So much of this resonates. My sense is that a greater set of people need to see that Europe (the state-in-the-making) is worth fighting for. Too many people are still blind to how much it’s doing for them.

Brilliant piece, Judith and I couldn’t agree more with your call for realism over performative optimism.

You put words on something many in the ecosystem feel but rarely articulate: optimism without urgency becomes paralysis.

In Deep Tech, I see the same pattern: the problem isn’t just capital or talent, it’s systemic ambition.

Many brilliant founders are never really exposed to the rules of the venture game (Aka VC game), the logic of scale, risk, and returns that drive competitiveness.

Once they see it, everything changes.

Ambition recalibrates. Action follows.
